A wide range of research studies are taking place within the hospitals and universities associated with our NIHR comprehensive Biomedical Research Centre.
Some of these studies take place in outpatient clinics or in our hospital wards while other studies take place in dedicated clinical research facilities which are based at both Guy’s and St Thomas’ hospitals.
Patients with specific conditions and people who are essentially fit and well and don't have specified conditions (often known as healthy volunteers) who participate in a study will experience a welcoming and comfortable environment. Experienced research nurses will support you during your visit.
If you are interested in finding out more about our clinical research facilities you can attend one of our open days. You can also find out more about studies that are currently recruiting participants and how you can register your interest.
Research in the St Thomas’ facility is focused on nutrition, obesity, cardiovascular health, diabetes, women’s health and twins research.
Research in the Guy’s facility is focused on cancer, transplantation, rheumatology, dermatology, chronic inflammatory disorders, asthma and allergy.
